How do plastic cases protect your phone?

Cases, accessories and other tricks: How to protect your cell phone in summer

Not paying attention for a moment, the expensive smartphone is already on the floor. There are a few accessories to protect it so that it does not break in the event of a fall.

Cell phone hazards

Clearly, if the phone slams on the floor, it can't be a good thing. Fortunately, there are practical cell phone cases that can prevent the worst - for example from zanasta.de. But apart from that, there are other external influences that are not at all good if you want to keep your cell phone for a long time.
Especially in summer, the heat is a real danger for smartphones. Because a smartphone cannot cool itself. And so we have to protect our expensive electronic gadgets from the high temperatures in summer. The battery does not get along well with high temperatures and can be damaged quickly. Unfortunately, in most cases this damage is irreparable. Therefore, if possible, do not leave your smartphone in the car in summer. Because the heat from outside increases in a parked car. This means that it is many times hotter and therefore also more dangerous for cell phones and tablets.

Protect your gadgets from direct sunlight

In addition to high temperatures, direct sunlight is also a problem for the smartphone display in summer. Because if the electronic device is directly in the sun, it can get really hot very quickly: Over 70 degrees Celsius have already been measured when smartphones have been in the sun for a long period of time. This is of course more than bad for the electronics built into the device, because it rarely goes over 50 degrees. The result: malfunctions and even damage that cannot be repaired easily.
Direct sunlight can damage the liquid crystals in the display to such an extent that it can no longer be used. Not that bad, but still annoying: the battery is also affected at high temperatures and discharges very quickly.
But there is also a remedy for this case: Cell phone cases made from materials that we know from summer vacations, such as neoprene. And in fact, this material is not only recommended when you want to surf in the summer, but also when you want to protect your smartphone from heat and sun. Neoprene shields the heat and solar radiation from the outside quite well and thus ensures that the expensive gadget does not overheat. Similar to a surf or diving suit, neoprene keeps the temperature inside it relatively constant. This means that you can carry your phone with you with a clear conscience, even in extreme heat and intense sunlight.
But be careful: you shouldn't leave a smartphone lying around in the glove compartment in the middle of summer. Because even neoprene cannot work miracles. Several hours in an overheated car in the glove compartment, even with a cover made of this high-tech material, mean that the gadget is likely to be damaged.
So: take your cell phone with you.

What do I do on the beach with my smartphone?

In addition to the hot temperatures, there are other dangers lurking on the beach, namely sand and water. And you should also stay away from these two as much as possible if you want to enjoy your smartphone for a long time. Because sand can penetrate into every small crack and destroy the smartphone sooner or later. The small grains rub against the sensitive electronic parts each time they are used, thus breaking them.
Here, too, the right cover helps so that no sand can get into the smartphone in the first place. When choosing the cover, you should make sure that it is really bombproof and that it fits snugly around the phone. A badly processed or incorrectly fitting cover can mean the opposite of protection on the beach: If the cover does not fit properly, sand can collect in it. And this sand now has all the time in the world to scratch the smartphone from the outside or slowly work its way through small openings in the shell. Not a nice idea.

Beware of (splash) water

In addition to sand and heat, water also poses a great risk to electronic devices in summer. Because the cool water lurks not only on the beach, liquid can also quickly get into the cell phone in the city or in the park, whether it is a fallen juice bottle or a water fight.
What to do if the smartphone gets wet In the first place, you should definitely try to turn off the power. That means, remove the battery from the smartphone as soon as possible. However, this does not work with all devices. If your smartphone is one of them, you should switch it off quickly in any case. This also ensures that no - or at least not much - electricity flows.
Next step: Only transport the electronic device with the display upwards and leave it there. And so long until the water has completely diffused out of the device. Depending on the severity of the water damage, this can take different lengths of time.
In order not to let things get that far, there are now practical outdoor protective covers that can protect the expensive smartphone from water and sand. If you spend a lot of time outdoors in summer and want to have your hand with you at all times, you should consider whether such an outdoor cover might be worthwhile for you too.
