What is the best snowboard place

Snowboard: 4th place for ÖSV duo Riegler / Karl in the team competition in Gastein

The ÖSV competed in the home race with a total of seven teams in the 32 field. In the end, Riegler and Karl missed the podium by a wafer-thin margin. After victories over South Korea, Russia 1 and Germany 3, the two of them were only a tenth of a second behind the Russian siblings Natalia Sobolewa / Andrej Sobolew in the small final.

Just past the podium

"It's a shame that it was just not enough for the podium, but this competition is really fun," emphasized Riegler after only the second snowboard team competition in World Cup history. The Olympic third, Karl, is "enjoying the team competition more and more. It's exciting and a real asset to our calendar." In the team event, the women contest their duel first, and the men’s start gate is triggered when they cross the finish line.

Line up for parallel competition

Head coach Bernd Krug and ÖSV snowboard boss Christian Galler announced the eleven-man red-white-red line-up (five women and six men) for the title fights in the parallel competition after the last race before the home World Cup starting next week at Kreischberg / Lachtal: Marion Kreiner , Sabine Schöffmann, Olympic champion Julia Dujmovits, Claudia Riegler, Ina Meschik and Karl, Andreas Prommegger, Lukas Mathies, Anton Unterkofler, Alexander Payer, Sebastian Kislinger.
